my best box is an original 5750GE (the 5 in the third digit means it has features equivalent to Intel vPro). they're pretty good APUs. I dug up Tom's article for the original release of these chips.
looks like these new chips, both 65W G-series and 35W GE-series, have the same exact clock rates as the originals. the iGPU likewise appears identical. AMD really didn't change much here at all and is apparently just looking to cover the budget end of the market. but if the chips do become available to consumers, even white label, they could be a decent option - especially the 35W GE series in 1-liter Proxmox boxes.
one thing to note with that, though, my particular system with the original 5750GE - an HP EliteDesk - does not break the iGPU into a separate IOMMU group from most of the rest of the integrated peripherals, meaning that GPU passthrough is impossible without using a kernel patch which severely compromises security.
