I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the #MastodonForHarris hashtag. I see its audience not so much as Mastodon itself, but rather as being the Harris campaign, to show them that there is organizing energy here, and that they should set up a presence here. Too much of the political world is still primarily relying on Elon Musk's Nazi factory for social media, and need to be convinced to migrate. If this effort can get people off of Twitter and onto more ethical platforms/protocols such as Mastodon, it'll be worth it.
