Rachel Reeves today said in Parliament (in relation to the turmoil of Trump's tariff policy) that 'we have your backs'.
Which will be news to the disabled people losing their PIP payments, might be a surprise to the vast numbers of civil servants she seems keen to sack, or any mortgage holder paying high interest rates because she is unwilling to shift BoE policy instructions....
But we all know when she says 'we have your backs', she's really just talking to the bankers.
