I generally agree, and AI can definitely be used to make people more dumb. However, technology, including AI, also often has the opposite effect.
Because we don't have to expend brain-cycles for things that we have technology to do for us, it unlocks the time for us to spend brain-cycles learning things the AI and whatever other technology we come up with CAN'T do.
In other words, it's all about how you use it. Does it make menial tasks easier for you so you can focus on something more important, or do you just use it in order to churn out low-effort slop?
