We, Iranians celebrate new year at the very first day of spring until the 13th day. It is called "Nowruz".
It has roots in Iranian mythology and the religion of Zoroastrianism.
Also, the reason of being 13 days is interestingly epic.
The legend says than Iranians had a 12000 years of war with demons, and in the 13000th year, they became victors and conquerors.
This celebration is the celebration of the victory of light over the dark, fire over the ice and good over the evil.
Also, countries neighboring Iran also celebrate Nowruz.
