There's a very large woodpecker that seems to have found a hole in a tree, about 30 feet off the ground. The tree is on the lawn near the house.. I've only just recently noticed the hole. Maybe the bird made it- they (there are several of various sizes) go at their woodpecking jobs in earnest, leaving lots of wood chips around. In some evenings lately, as darkness approaches, I hear him squawking on his flight to the tree, and I look up, and watch him disappear into the hole. #bird #woodpecker
