As much as I understand we're living in pretty difficult times and everything, I do think there's just a lack of basic parenting involved because people just can't be bothered, regardless of the difficult times we're in. Covid just emphasized this because we as a society (wether UK or elsewhere in the West), lost the little bit of social coherence we still had. (And it's by design imo, but that's a different conversation I think).
