Drivers are usually aggressive, I believe, due to really only interacting directly with cold, blank objects like cars (especially since most aren't convertibles, so they cannot see the driver) and traffic cones). So, having them see me, and thus a living person, is something I want to show (and thus, prevent then from being opportunistic with speed and killing me).
