Been quite surprised by the # of red-tailed hawks I've encountered along the river this year. Most likely due to the lack of migratory eagles who tend to dominate the river banks when they're here. Marvelous how one apex predator is missing & another takes it place. Pretty sure this one was hunting because I watched fly to the ground where it was really focused on what was in front of it.
