What if I told you there were whole classes of metadata leaks that could be avoided completely? Like amounts analysis or address correlation which isn't possible on Monero.

This is akin to saying you should do PGP encryption by hand instead of using FOSS private messenger apps like SimpleX (which is easier, better for privacy, and leaves less room for error). Doing it the difficult way just severely reduces the pool of users who could ever attain privacy (and reduces everyone elses anonymity set as a consequence).

I think we should take easy privacy wins that don't reduce sovereignty where we can get them, but I agree that we shouldn't sacrifice self-sovereignty for them 🤝
