When the Austrian army, in their quest to force Uniates upon the Orthodox, arrived in 1705, they demanded Theodosie renounce his faith. Unshaken, he refused, declaring his unwavering loyalty to Orthodoxy. Enraged, the soldiers tortured him mercilessly, but Theodosie remained steadfast. Finally, they beheaded him, and he received the crown of martyrdom.
