Linux Mint's Clem is so salty. Everything from Libadwaita/client-side theming, the IRC situation, and software store minutia.

Keep in mind, GNOME was already showing signs of going into this direction at least 2 years ago. But adapting or using a tool because it's practical? No, let's just downgrade everything and spend more time maintaining an older copy when the fully functional one is right there.

Want to progress on newer (which they call "experimental" smh) tech like Wayland and portals? The IRC client, now Matrix client, is more important apparently. I don't know a single normal person that opened Hexchat in Linux Mint.

I don't disagree with their stance on Flathub, but the comment "By the time malware hits Flathub" is so dumb. It's been years for malware to hit Flathub and we are still waiting. I don't doubt it will happen at some point, but let's be realistic, Linux Mint will not fix that issue by doing whatever ranking system they are making.

The documentation is so passive aggressive too: try looking up snaps.

I think we can be doing more productive things with our time than trying to duplicate work. Publishing the "monthly blog" that comes off as complaining and simultaneously illustrating how Linux Mint has not adopted modern standards in Linux.
