While every other layout method lasted seven years before being replaces, we are not going to replace CSS Grid.
We’ll improve and expand Grid. Grid level 2 brought us Subgrid. Grid level 3 is being worked on to allow column-only grids (without lining things up in rows) (aka, Masonry). And there are lots of ideas for Grid level 4.
Plus, of course, other tools are great too: Flexbox, flow layout, floats, intrinsic sizing, etc…
But CSS Grid is our dominate layout system and it’s here to stay!
