I remember reading a post a long time ago from a guy who was convinced that shampoos are filled with all sorts of evil chemicals and that you shouldn't use most shampoos and stick to only organic soaps. He particularly had it in for "sodium laureth sulphate" which he said was the stuff that they clean car engines out with and that they shouldn't use these industrial cleaners on humans. Then I remember seeing that basically every single shampoo ever contains sodium laureth sulphate. Looking at this chemical today it doesn't really seem all that bad to be honest, but it makes me think that this strain of thought, the organic-bros, well represented by RFK Jr and the seed oil crew has probably been around for a long time and is a big market, but them being political outsiders means they can sometimes slip into kooksphere paranoia
