Major narrative is: concept was fine, but destroying shit isn’t.
Fine, but the internet is full of hydraulic press Reels or Shorts of red hot metal balls melting stuff. That stuff’s huge and so there’s a clear appetite (never mind more oblique examples that predate it, such as demolition derbies) – and so I do not buy that it was ‘obvious’ that this was a mis-step.
I ain’t arguing it wasn’t, but it’s there-but-for-the-grace-of-god for me, a creative guy.
