For more than 30 years I have loathed this song. Now it turns out that all it needed was to replace Michael Stipe's strangled self-importance with Micky Dolenz's unaffected joy, sweetness and loungecore, and LO! a work of beauty. (Thought my partner was going to cry when I played it just now).
REM have never done much for me in general, but I find I'm wildly excited about Micky Dolenz's EP - I'm agog for his 'Man on the Moon'.
