I can assure you I am not trolling.
I was listening to the BBC this mornign for about half an hour, till they stopped talking about the Middle East. No mention of Lebanese or Iranian officials statements (or attempts to have taken them) were made.
In the article you link, the only mention to statements by the Lebanese government are:
a) a 3rd hand 'Lebanese security source'
b) a one-liner by the PM a week before
c) some vague reference to "Lebanese officials" (talk about anonymous)
