I think they will react when forced to confront their existence or something they've said.\n\nE.g., some of the recent discussion about Mastodon. When open racism is pointed out, they'll condemn, not defend. They'll be uncomfortable, upset. But it's not like they're going to do anything about the problem. And as I've experienced, plenty seem just as uncomfortable when the problem gets brought up from other angles.",
