I think that the best way to handle when someone you like or respect unfollows you to just not get stuck in your head over it. Then you can redouble your efforts on the people that do care about you, that have stuck with you through thick and thin and try to find more people that do. If you have a circle of friends that you can turn to and have a good conversation with then that acts like a good buffer to bad feelings.
