Users are 100% juggling subscriptions right now between patreons, streaming media services, apps, etc. Subscription fatigue is real. No one is arguing that devs shouldn't be paid. The subscription model is the best of several bad options available to indie devs at the moment. The model is not working great for everyone tho.
