People who argue it doesn't matter that Clarence Thomas is rolling in Republican dough because he'd vote that way anyway are missing the point: The money almost prohibits him from ever taking an independent stance. If he agrees with the far right 99% of the time he's under pressure to vote for them 100% of the time, which means he's not a Supreme Court justice — merely an agent of those anti-American interests.
