Good question, problem is that I feel like I'm not the best to answer it. 😆 I like to check the trending notes and just browse through the global section on Primal. Admittedly I rarely search for things on nostr. Discoverability is a little tough on nostr but it is something people are discussing and working on...

I also suggest being liberal with muting if you see something you really don't want to read or see again. In some regards, nostr isn't the safest social media for work. Though that might depend on the relays and clients you use. Most of the time, there's not much to mute around here since there's a lot of good people. Which is a little surprising considering how nostr is huge on free speech and you really can say whatever you want.

Also, sometimes you might see some 1 sat zaps with advertisements. There also are some interesting ways to advertise to people beyond that like reacting, following, replying, and whatever else might give you a notification.

There's a lot more to nostr than what Primal shows so I've been trying out noStrudel to see things like live streams and whatnot. I haven't dove into all of it yet. So depending on your device, you could try out different clients and have some fun.

Lastly, from what I've seen people who get zapped usually contribute with valuable insights, information, and project announcements. It's pretty awesome and wholesome. Other than that, I don't know of any other tips or thoughts off the top of my head.
