npub14cdq4kjuqke9rcedfakw46me9gm8xz8ptredg84yw2psk7kll5tqwkcpd9 (npub14cd…cpd9) I finished watching /I'm in Love with the Villainess./ I liked it a lot, so thank you!
It navigated the pitfalls without flinching away from the subject too much. The last episode arc with our MC being forced to commit for both of their sakes actually surprised me; friends do startling things. The only thing that felt off was the seeming complete acceptance in the last episode of their out-in-the-open relationship from the rest of their classmates / peers. Too pat. Either it's unacceptable to some (as seemed established in the first episodes) or it was acceptable, but that would have changed the texture of the story. This part seemed confused. All in all, I give it an A-.
What did you think?
So, I'd like to recommend one back: /The Apothecary Diaries/. It is a strongly feminist tale in a milieu that wasn't historically woman-friendly. It has a very interesting MC in a close to historically correct Chinese palace setting (as best as my limited knowledge will carry me.). I will point out I have not seen the last episode, so it could go completely off the rails. Jus' say'in'.
