Well. I am with you in thinking nostr is flawed. I came up with a similar design 8 years ago but have been refining it ever since, both because as a full time dad I didn't have time to code and because it sucked.
I agree that everything needs authentication. Luckily signatures do that. You just have to make sure you actually sign everything you care about, because any part of the network that sees something poorly formed or from an unknown source should drop it immediately with no response.
