Kātiki Point forms southern tip of Moeraki Peninsula. Lighthouse built 1878 (📷1). Coastal views from pā of Te Raka-a-Hineatea, in use in 18th century (📷2); little remains. Plenty of 🦭. Saw 2 yellow-eyed penguin/ hoiho (📷3). Also named takaraka after their call, ~20% of the mainland population breed here. Tārapuka/ red-billed gulls (📷4) were nesting; 7% of pairs are female.
