The main things I'm posting on Pixelfed and Instagram are pics of me, pics of our cats, and manga pics.
When you break it down for the year by category, the results are jarring.
The likes per post are as follows for a few categories I've tracked:
Manga - 30 (Insta) / 5 (Pixelfed)
Selfies - 25 (Insta) / 10 (Pixelfed)
Cats - 23 (Insta) / 31 (Pixelfed)
Fediverse loves cats and tolerates my selfies. Whereas on Instagram, my manga posts are doing well compared to my selfies and cat posts. Also, cat pics are one of the only categories I have tracked that does better on Pixelfed than on Instagram.
