The party itself is intellectually bankrupt--roll over and play dead is the "daring" strategy Carville suggests in that article--nakedly corrupt, and decadent. I think there is not enough cohesion within it to mount a response with enough oomph to overcome the petty aims of individuals like Schumer. It seems like the courts--the last and definitely not best line of defense--are the main hope right now.
