Researchers developed a new organic molecule coating that can significantly increase the efficiency and lower the cost of solar panels.
This coating smooths out surface defects in perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, which are made using cheaper, textured silicon wafers. The coating achieves power conversion efficiency of 30.89%. In addition, devices display operational stability by retaining over 97% of their initial performance after 600 h continuous illumination.
