One of my favorite things on Mastodon is to give new accounts a follow.
It's sort of a "welcome hug", a "yes, someone sees you and it will be okay".
Almost always, it works out just fine.
Sure, there's the rare somewhat progressive account that goes full on libertarian or fash a few months before an election.
But that's easy to deal with.
