In the bobiverse books, "free market" capitalism actually works to do something other than enrich the already wealthy. Eg, on a brand new colony on a hostile plant full of plants and animals trying to kill them, someone opens a whiskey distillery and starts *selling* booze.
As a reader, I'm like: are you already drunk? You have extremely limited resources, and you're functioning like a social unit just to survive, but this asshole wants to make money off the situation!? Fuck that guy!
