JWST continues to gaze into the farthest reaches of the Universe, looking at galaxies as they appeared just a few hundred million years after the Big Bang. One example is the galaxy GN-z11, which is surprisingly luminous even though it's only 430 million years old. The team studying this galaxy discovered that it hosts a central supermassive black hole with two million solar masses rapidly accreting matter from its surroundings, the most distant active galaxy ever seen.
