In this case the 3D scene is rendered locally but changes to the scene can come from server events (like nostr notes). Or loading in other assets that can be fetched from an online source (like in this example I posted, the drink is loaded in from the web like images are in the timeline).

But yes, nothing stopping a 3D view from being rendered remotely and then the display output being sent to a user’s device. All other principals also apply, just moving where the render is happening.
