"content": "I'm super stoked by this pic. Several years ago I found out a out a strain of corn known as Tama Flint. It's a flint corn that was selected over generations by the Meskwaki tribe of Iowa (Tama). The selected strain is a deep red color. I live in iowa and am super interested in local and native foods. I contacted the Meskwaki tribe trying to get some seed. I found out that they don't sell or give seed to non natives. After scouring the internet I found a sees saver in Louisiana that had a small amount of seed that he was willing to part with. I planted some of that this spring and this is it sprouting (along with a few weeds, lol). Some of the seed was not the deep red that is the pure strain, so I'm sure that I will have some different colors in this crop. I also have tons of modern GMO corn being grown all around me so I don't know how that will affect pollination. But, regardless, I'm excited to be growing this variety of corn!\n\n#foodstr #growyourown #realfood #eatlocal #Homestead #homsteading #nostr #grownostr #corn #maize #cornstr\n\n\nhttps://m.primal.net/IIXr.jpg\n",
