I have an American friend, he has lots of guns & ammo. I asked him why, his response was "because I can". I think this is an excellent answer but also I am pretty sure he would even if he "couldn't" (in a compliance sort of way).
It came up because he once told me he ordered tens of thousands of rounds of different ammo online and it was all delivered by mail, that's when I asked why. Back in the day Iranians stacked silk carpets (equivalent to american CDs/bonds), Indians stack Gold jewelry. Smart Americans stack guns and ammo. Now everyone everywhere can stack #Bitcoin. It's pretty amazing.
