We all make mistakes. It's good that you assume yours and regret them. ❤️
I'd like to add that these situations are precisely why leaders included "basic rights" in countries' constitutions. And, unfortunately, leaders also chose to disregard these rights when convenient for their power grab.
And I know it's not fashion to say that nowadays, but morality necessarily comes from religion. The majority chose to replace God by some sort of mammon and now they don't know why their rights are only guaranteed when the nomenklatura wishes so.
