Some years ago, when I thought my 3rd hand, manual, 2005 VW Golf TDI was about to die (it wasn’t), I asked my mechanic which car would he recommend if I were to get a new one. He told me “whatever you get, get a Japanese one. Toyota, Honda, Subaru… Just get a Japanese car. You see millions on the streets, but I barely see them in my shop”.
Toyota seems like a good plan to me.
I’m still driving my Golf, btw.
