Went for some lovely walks on this fine September day at the Snow's Cove Preserve (Blue Hill Heritage Trust) and Lookout Rock (Maine Coast Heritage Trust). I saw the largest examples of this lichen I had ever seen. I call it Elephant's Ear because an interpretive sign at some park called that, but I've since seen other names for it.
