Is it wrong that when I see "able to influence without authority" listed as a job requirement, I immediately Nope right out of it?
Sure, being able to convince people without a stick is a useful skill, but every time I've seen that attitude, it's been an abusive "go make people do this thing, but I won't support you" statement from management.
Am I just unlucky, or is that what it always means for you?
