Here is how the #CapitalistPropaganda machine works … 🧵
As with all #propaganda, it begins with control of the narrative. And as historically defined, propaganda was an instrument of the #state. State actors such as the USSR and Nazis controlled the narrative. Whereas “free speech” in the democratic countries was enforced by a vast multitude of diverse competing interests.
Today, that “vast multitude of diverse competing interests is gone. In its place we have a #MediaMonopoly controlled by #billionaires. Nothing new here … we all know this.
But what I don’ t think people get is the mechanism the media monopoly employs to make you think you’re getting something other than a steady drip of “news” that benefits the billionaires.
