In romance, I've seen the distinction made between "sweet" and "spicy." Spice level seems to be a good way to describe sexually explicit content and help readers find works that fit their comfort level. It's also a less judgemental term.
Personally, when I think of "offensive" content, I don't think of sex, or even profanity, but more in terms of slurs, insults, or horrific brutality.
