This is a key point about the Heritage Foundation et al that bears repeating with a megaphone: THEY'RE OUT OF TOUCH WITH NORMAL PEOPLE. (They claim to *be* the normal people: but as is usual with the far right, they're inverting the true situation.)
Shine a spotlight on the infestation and they don't scuttle for cover, they stare up at the light in confusion because they don't understand what's wrong with their world-view.
