oh - there you go! I was based in Kigali at the time but used to cover Eastern Congo - Cyangugu and Goma - all of that Kivu bit. Used to have go and meet the tracing teams as the kids came back in from Kinshasa and surrounds - UN flights to get them back, once family had been identified. It was joyous and devastating at the same time…. And yes - never gets any easier. Bit of white guilt is probably a good thing really
