I'm just old enough to remember when my family could buy a scoop of chips for 50 cents. A lot of places now charge $5, I'm taking neighborhood fish & chip shops too, I've seen bars charging $8-10. Meanwhile, the minimum wage is not 10 times what it was in the 1980s, despite the squawking from employers, and neither are benefits.
