that’s just it, people are genuinely addicted to other apps.

it’s hard to change consumer behavior in general, borderline impossible when addiction is involved.

what keeps me coming back? my friends are here. it’s not for news or discovering recipes (yet). it’s the people.

how do we attract groups of people and other online communities? that I don’t know, because unfortunately censorship resistance is not compelling enough on its own.

re: his point on retention. It is true that most people do not stick around. It’s sad that “make people addicted to your app“ by pumping retention is the standard of success. My main goal is to just build tools that people find useful and gives them freedom in ways to communicate that don’t “go down” or get censored. Maybe most people don’t need or want this solution right now. Maybe elons vision of free speech is “good enough” for most people. Some things are just out of our control, what we can focus on as nostr devs is continuing to polish our solutions and be ready for when we are needed.
