I think it’s a combination of many factors. The move from incandescent to LED lighting has had a profound effect though. And it is noticeable that having one million EVs on the roads has not significantly increased demand. That said, heat pumps and EVs will push demand back upwards in the coming years. The challenge is to keep the buildout of renewables (and their gas backup) ahead of that trend.
