One thing I don’t like of the cinematic adaptation of “The Return of the King” is how they left out completely the point in which Sam decides not to take the ring for himself and left Frodo to his destiny.
In the books, he is tempted by the ring with power and glory. However, he decides that he doesn’t care about all of that because he loves is simple life. Who cares about power when you have a family, a garden to grow and some good friends?
A powerful message, brutally left out.
