"content": "So the $100 swingset I bought the youngins for Xmas had a a rotted A-Frame. Knew such at time of purchase but knew it would hold out till I could make a better one. Weeeellllllllll, my boy got hold to a 20ft stick of 4” x 4” 1/4” wall tubing. Welded with 7018. Scavenged baseplates from a scale install served as the covers for the ends and the feet, and also the bracketry up to. Used 1/2” pins and washers scavenged from another scale job. Then painted with whatever spray paint I could get to spray from my stash (it was pretty cool yesterday). All in, we have maybe $10 between the welding rod, flux core wire used to tack it, and the R-pins used to secure the 1/2” pins. This A-Frame may well outlive my grandkids.\n\nStay tuned for possible gantry crane upgrades lol\n\n#Welding #Fabrication #SkilledTrades #DIY #Handyman #HotRodLincoln #Tools https://image.nostr.build/3a1736029fd7a44bd10e633e422eb31c5768048b3859e935d276832cb82fef05.jpg https://image.nostr.build/02e018022c0668e79314a2068bd8323cde15f2b0321aa546da0149203aab9ebc.jpg https://image.nostr.build/a57fdd6938aaa115c8905e40a6fec8ef8aa20ce6b26da93753d50d7fbdb652fc.jpg https://video.nostr.build/47de273251b168da441f0077ac3fd3ce53e0585132fee89f6209038fef704f22.mp4 ",
