I sometimes forget that wasps are pollinators too.
Tbh I have a love/hate relationship w wasps. Love that they prey on tomato hornworms & other pests. Hate that they also go after butterfly caterpillars.
And I've been stung enough times that I'm extremely wary of paper wasps & yellow jackets. I keep a flyswatter in the garden for a reason.
But I have a genuine soft spot for these little red & black mason wasps. They're not aggressive, don't build colonies, and seem to spend as much time walking around the flowers as the bees do. Highly beneficial imo.
Also, the yarrow is blooming again! 😊
