I find the whole English conjoined houses thing weird. I can kinda get it when squeezing houses into the limited space of towns/etc - but why glue two houses together when you build them out in the fields? And I don't accept "because it's cheaper due to them sharing a wall" as really anywhere near a good enough justification.

(Kinda like this newly listed rental, but iffy about being out in the fields with some Russian-roulette neighbour situation.)
