Here's why I disagree: religion is based on obedience and dogma. Something is right or wrong because allegedly a deity said so. There is no nuance, no room for debate, just what the cult founders decreed.
Over time, new cult leaders adjust the explanations to reinforce the teachings.
A whole cottage industry exists in rationalizing the religion's edicts.
That is wholly unlike science. Which changes with new discoveries.
